Dry, itchy or blurry eyes?

At Waldo, we’re the first to admit that every eye is different and contact lenses are not one-size-fits-all. If you experience discomfort with Waldo lenses, our in-house optician can tell you why.

‘My Waldo lenses feel dry after a few hours’

This could be down to your lens fitting too tightly on your eye. If this is the case, you’ll have no fresh tear exchange under your lens which means you’ll need to wear a flatter lens. Waldo lenses are 8.5 base curve, so it might be worth trying a 9.0. Alternatively, a lens with a lower water content could be more comfortable for you (as your lens and eye will be fighting for your tears) or even a silicone lens.

‘My Waldo lenses are very itchy’

Your Waldo lenses might feel itchy if your eyes are naturally particularly dry.  If you notice that your eyes are a lot less dry when you wear glasses, perhaps lenses in general aren’t the most comfortable eyewear choice for you.

‘My vision is blurry’

This might be due to the curvature of your Waldo lens. If your lens sits tightly on your eye (too curved), fresh tears can’t exchange under the lens and this will make your vision blurry. To fix this, it might be worth trying lenses with a higher base curve. Waldo lenses are 8.5 base curve, so you could try a 9.0 or above.

‘My lenses move around in my eye’

No lenses should move around in your eye once in position. If this does occur, it means your lens doesn’t correctly fit your eye and you need a different size lens. In cases like these, you’ll need to visit your optician to get your eyes measured for the correct size lens.

If you have found Waldo lenses don’t suit you perfectly, keep your eyes peeled! We’re working on developing further lenses and should have them soon.
